To Don OLson's sister Isabel and family. Don was a very old friend of my late sister Carol Jean Mencer and family. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Don. I have many good memories of Don. He was a kind and caring person. I know that Don touched many people. One thing I remember how proudly he wore his blue and white Rockland High School football jacket, class of 1963, many years ago. Also my deepest sympathy to his wife, children, and grandchildren. May his memory live forever. May God comfort you at this sad time.

I am greatly saddened to hear of your loss of Donny. I knew Donny so many years ago. He was part of a group of friends that I enjoyed. Donny was "always" kind, thoughtful and had a humor that was so wonderful. We carpooled for a time with my brother into Boston. The conversation in the car on those trips were always fun. What a great way to start out our day with so much laughter. Donny could tell a story in such a way that he just made you smile.
I was so glad to read of the many blessing in Donny's life of having a wife, children and of course his sister and niece. I am sure he brought great happiness to you all.
My thought are with you. I am sorry I missed the services for Donny, but did not know of his passing until this morning.
With deep sympathy, Nancy Lyons-Sharpe

I grew up across the street from where Isabel lives now. My maiden name was Hallisey. Donald was a good friend of my parents. He had a heck of a sense of humor. I'm so glad for him that he did become a "friend of Bill W." I'm sorry I missed the funeral as I just found out this morning that Donald passed away. Please know my prayers are with you all! Blessings and sympathy, Valerie Wild Owl

To the Family of Donald Olson: We were very sad to hear of the sudden passing of Donald. Donald's mother, Mary, and my father, Alexander, were brother and sister. We have fond memories of our visiting Rockland and his family. Donald was a generous and kind person whenever we were in his presence. He used to visit my mother and father in Wreck Cove in northern Cape Breton, and they showed him a good time. He liked my mother's home cooking. When we visited with him, he would spend time with us showing us the sights and sounds of Boston. His father, Ollie, was very proud of him. His mother, my Aunt Mary, a caring and compassionate person, would always ask him to show us around while we were visiting. He loved children. Our son, Jason, visited Boston when he was almost three years old. When I mentioned it to him, he remembered Donald. He made a good impression. To Isabel, Kathy, children, and grandkids our condolences.

Kathy and family - we were so sorry to hear about Donny's passing. I can only think of the happy times down the Cape and how he loved being there. Of course the lobster rolls may have been a big reason too! Love to all of you.
